Where Wear Celebrates One Year Anniversary….

Congrats, Kudos, Hear Hear, Salud, Cheers……Where Wear in the City has officially completed one year of being fabulous! It all dates back to Thursday, December 31, 2009 (seems like yesterday) to our first post on New Year’s Eve which brought 2010 in with a bang!

January 2010 brought us a disappointing Texas loss while February didn’t bring us moonlight and roses on Valentine’s Day, it did bring fun Spring charity events The Dallas Museum’s Affair of the Art, Fashion Cited,the Elan Circle’s Savor the Symphony, and Modern Luxury’s Fresh Faces.

With May flowers in bloom, Sex and the City 2 premiered at the extra-fabulous THE FASHIONISTAS Sex and the City 2 premiere party, while June presented fashion (Abi Ferrin & Bobby Schandra Handbags) , jewelry (Mahlia Collection, June Bijou & Caroline Quisenberry) and fitness (Beyond Pilates)…just in time for summer! With sparklers in hand, we celebrated the 4th of July at The Belmont Hotel and co-hosted our first Where Wear in the City event at Intimacy Northpark and a new site in August.

With the fall came NYC Fashion Week (Day 1, 2, 3, 4, Post Wrapup) , A Night with Fragrance Designer Niven Morgan, YTAC Bubbly Q, Nha Khanh Fashion Show and of course another birthday!

While we have been extremely blessed this year with our blog site….we have had the opportunity to write for Pink Memo , interview Khanh Nyugen & Nini Nyugen of Nha Khanh and Cassie MacGregor of House of MacGregor for Arts and Culture DFW, and be featured by Lisa Petty on THE FEAST!

To finish the year, we completed our 2nd NYC Marathon, attended Chefs for Farmers and THE FASHIONISTAS Holiday Fete, and went vintage shopping (Day 2, Day 3)!

Now time to enjoy New Year’s Eve, the impending Superbowl (Sunday, February 6, 2011) and the upcoming nuptials of William and Kate!

So what’s to come for Where Wear in 2011….a new look, a new website, special events and more….

Fashionistas were at their best and of course looking their best this past Thursday night! Dallas’ premiere boutique, Tootsies, hosted THE FASHIONISTAS of Dallas and San Antonio’s world renowned jewelry designer, Claudia Lobao.

Born and raised in Brazil, Claudia has an extensive arts background and focuses her talents in the fashion field by working with some of Brazil’s top designers. Claudia also keeps active in the visual arts field by making pottery, paintings and listening to music to inspire her. Moving to San Antonio, TX from New York City allowed both Claudia and Paulo, her husband, the opportunity to develop their company and brand, Claudia Lobao Jewelry. Within the past 2 years Claudia Lobao jewelry has been a staple on ABC’s Desperate Housewives. Acting as Director of Design and Development, Claudia focuses on development of new products and private label. Claudia Lobao jewelry is now sold to nearly 700 fine stores worldwide.

Nha Khanh Debut Fashion Show

Nha Khanh Debut Fashion Show

Fashionistas be “wear”! Ready for a little fierceness and femininity in your fall and spring wardrobe?….We say yes!

Wednesday October 20, 2010 at 8 p.m. THE FASHIONISTAS will present Nha Khanh’s Debut Fashion Show at the Dallas Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. Khanh Nguyen, founder and head designer of the Nha Khanh fashion line, will be unveiling her Spring 2011 Ready-To-Wear Collection and the custom-made and limited edition Black Velvet Collection, produced by Jan Strimple Productions.

VIP cocktail reception sponsored by Moet 7pm-8pm. Fashion show will begin at 9pm. $75 VIP Tickets include VIP cocktail party and gift bag. General Admission Tickets are $30.

Where Wear in the City 100th Blog Celebration

Where Wear in the City 100th Blog Celebration…Celebrate the good times!

Hello our fine friends of Where Wear in the City! We have officially reached our 100th blog! We would like to celebrate you our readers and viewers and hope that you will continue to read our blog and support us as we share with you each week! 10 solid months…but who’s counting?

Having the birth right of being twin sisters, we have experienced most of the same things in life whether that be together or in the same righteous manner but this blog has allowed us the freedom to channel and energize our creative juices and bring us truly closer (if that is possible) while sharing what is important to us and our life! As fashion, beauty, and nightlife come and go, we savor and cherish each moment we have in writing about each detail and exciting new find we stumble upon! In keeping with blog spirit, we will continue to keep that streak alive and hope you will too!

As 10 months have passed, we have had the opportunity to learn and grow all while experiencing new things and enjoying every opportunity that has crossed our path! This week we hit a big milestone: the big 3-2! Where the good comes with the bad and as one chapter closes, another one opens. As Where Wear in the City continues to get bigger and better we thought it was only appropriate to allow a little down time for reminiscing…(Pass the tissue please)…

Thinking back to the beginning of 2010…New Years Eve where this journey all began!! From our quick switch of blogspot to wordpress and quirky writing styles, and the additional creativeness of pictures and flipcam videos, this blog has truly evolved!

Fashion for a Passion…we can’t help but be charmed or get enough of it! From great designers at Fashion Cited to Abi Ferrin’s Fall Debut, as well as our featured article of the masterminds behind Nha Khanh in Arts and Culture Magazine, and rounding out some fabulous excursions at NYC Fashion Week!

And who could forget some of the noteworthy events we have been obliged to attend, The Fashionistas, Sex and the City 2 Premiere, A Night with Fragrance Designer Niven Morgan, Fresh Faces, Simply Summer Simply Shoes, Savor the Symphony, YTAC Bubbly Q, and Polish Dallas Fashion Show.

When you share the love of adventure and spontaneity as do we, trying new things are always at the top of the to do list! How about our fun hair makeover with Ale Bonilla at Esoterica Studios, hosting our first event for the 100th Anniversary of the Bra at Intimacy Northpark, raising money for Team For Kids in conjunction with the NYC marathon, and trying a new workout routine with Beyond Pilates.

With this blog, we hope our future endeavors bring us even more joy and success! Cheers to the next 10 months and even more to come!!

Enjoy a fierce fall fashion show with LIVE music by The Boss Level starting promptly at 9 pm. Doors open at 8 pm and the party lasts all night with guest burlesque performances and beats by DJ Automatic.

The night will be benefiting The FASHIONISTAS and help their efforts at raising scholarship funds for emerging fashion design students.
